Check the site and connection.
Land or roof rights, usable area, access, structural suitability and grid connectivity establish whether the project can be built and operated as intended. Development progress should be supported by documents and a clear list of remaining approvals.
Understand the offtake.
The identity and credit profile of the customer, agreed tariff structure, PPA term, billing arrangements and payment security affect the revenue case. Contracted capacity and a signed PPA should not be confused with cash already received.
Challenge the energy and cost assumptions.
Review resource estimates, losses, degradation, availability, curtailment exposure, equipment selection and the operating plan. Capital costs, financing, maintenance, insurance and lifecycle replacements should be assessed consistently.
Define governance before committing.
